{ Balmain SS 09 vs Target }

While I didn't fall in love with the entire Balmain Spring/Summer 2009 collection, the more I see it the more and more I like it. To the point where certain pieces have left me scouring the internet for similar inspired-by items recently.

The details of the crystal-embellished canvas jacket are absolutely stunning and the original USD $11,410 piece sold out on Net-A-Porter within 24 hours... wow... So, yes, a bandage dress (previously posted) and marching band jacket/vest are on the top of my wishlist and, possibly, my DIY list.

As an alternative, I love the look of the Go International for Target Bandleader vest for USD $35, featured in Who What Wear Daily. The vest is sold out online but I am going to stalk eBay until I find it at a good price and keep wishing very hard that it will come to Target Australia.

And last but not least, my favourite picks from the Balmain runway show.

lol I'm agreeing in unison with you here! Actually the more people that proclaimed their love for Balmain the more reluctant I was to give into their allure but gee! The more I see the collection the more I cannot help myself slowly but surely completely fawning over it lol.

If you can do a successful DIY job on a jacket then you are a legend. Seriously that would be pretty amazing :)

I don't think I'll ever get tired of seeing Balmain and Balmain-inspired clothing anytime. They're just so covetable! I can't believe that with that outrageous price, it still sold out on net-a-porter?! Ahhh, to have a life where money is abundant...

I didn't want to like this collection, but I did. I find myself more and more drawn to it and distressed, bleached denim is finding it's way into my closet. It's funny though...the shoes, I didn't much care for... I know it's almost a sin to say.

I think dotti actually has a good inspired denim jacket and sportsgirl has a leather version, which I actually don't think are too bad.
God Balmain is perfection

I love that Balmain collection too! It's ridiculous how people would spend 11,400 on a jacket!
