{ Courtney Brims }

I'm writing this from my new apartment, sitting on the floor at my makeshift cardboard box desk while we wait for our furniture to be delivered later this month. I hope everyone had an amazing New Years eve! Today I'm going to the botanical gardens for a picnic lunch, which I'll post photos of soon. The giveaway is now closed and I'll be announcing the winners soon.

I'll leave you with these gorgeous illustrations by Courtney Brims, a self-taught artist from Brisbane. Her illustrations are available as greeting cards, prints and postcards from this website.

Love love love Courtney Brims' work. That Red Riding Hood-esque illustration is probably one of my all time faves.

A picnic sounds like a lovely way to be spending the first day of the new year. Wishing you all the best for 2011!

I love Courtney Brims' art. The first time I'd learned about her was from NYLON magazine when they'd featured a tote bag with her Red Riding Hood drawing. My favorite is the girl with the owls- I have it as my desktop!

A happy new year to you!

I love her - so awesome! I have a set of 5 cards too that I got at Finder's Keepers.
I've seen her originals in person and omg they are so detailed and flawless. You can't even see the pencil markings just about.
Happy new year :D

I love these drawings!
I'm just crazy about the second girl, she looks like some kind of a lovely ice queen. I mean, look at the little frozen-blue details and that beautiful braid, wrapped around her voluminous hair... Looove
