{ A place to call my own }

I find it really difficult living in a small apartment at times. Things seem to be constantly piling up, spilling out and just taking up too much room. I find it therapeutic to de-clutter the rooms of my apartment, with most of the cast-offs going to the second hand shop and a few making it into my blog shop. I'm usually left feeling a bit guilty about all the things I buy that are never put to good use, so one of my resolutions this year is to buy less and give away more.

I love seeing how other people make the best of their living spaces and of course before and after photos are great inspiration when freshening up my own home. I was particularly impressed by how the owner of this not-so-glamorous hunting cabin turned it into dream Victorian-inspired cottage. She scoured garage sales and second hand stores to find all the furnishings and finishing touches needed to complete the $3000 project and now uses the cottage in the forest as her own personal little retreat.

I N C R E D I B L E !!!!!!! !

P.s. that is my exact phase that I am in, I have been clearing out sections of the apartment and giving lots to charity stores/my market stall

I think it is important to consume less, and consume wisely, better to buy a more expensive dress that will last a long time and can be mixed with different outfits, than a cheap disposable one (and when needing cheap, opt for second hand!)

LOVE this post! xxx

That little Victorian-style cottage is gorgeous - I can envision spending many an hour just sitting on the porch reading a good book and watching the world go by :)

The hardest thing in apartment I find is wardrobe space. There just is never enough room for everything. I love the before and after shots. That cottage is stunning.

Lol, this really looks amazing. I am not a big fan of all girly, victorian things, but this made a huge impression. Amazingly creative !

Oh wow that is pretty awesome. I love cottages and shabby chic. That's inspirational. I'm the same - too much stuff, not enough room. Need my own house.

Totally understand your small apartment woes; we lived in a tiny one bedroom place for years! Argh!

This is absolutely amazing. Very inspiring!
