{ Cherub floral print }

About a month ago I posted about the Dolce & Gabbana A/W 2012 runway show, which featured an amazing mix of baroque prints, lace knee-high socks and ornate jewellery. So when this closely inspired dress popped up on Romwe I was quick to pounce on it! The lack of puff sleeves makes the dress much more everyday-friendly though the pattern still makes for a beautiful going out dress.

I would love to know how they managed to give the skirt so much volume in the runway show; I was wearing my frothy American Apparel petticoat underneath and still didn't come close.

Romwe cherub print dress (original or similar)
Forever New emerson basic top (similar)
Romwe faux knee high tights
Jacki Anderson handbag (coming soon)
Kmart wedge ankle boots (similar)

P.S I've added over twenty new items to my blog shop and added a sale section so click on the image below to shop my wardrobe.

I saw this dress a while back on Jolie Moi (which also sells it) and I was in love with it at first glance! It looks fabulous on you and I love how you've styled it! :) I also have no idea how they get it to look so puffy, probably a runaway trick ;)

gosh this is like taking florals to a whole new level! I see the dress has nice princess seams instead of darts, no wonder it looks so flattering! x

Oh my, Sushi, that is SO COOL! And it suits you SO well, I don't think many people could pull that off.
Also you always spot the coolest Romwe items and I'm always too late, ha.

Thanks, Angie! It's definitely not something I would usually consider wearing but the print really sucked me in (and trying new things is good!) x Sushi

The dress is totally beautiful, and more wearable than the runway one. You look classy and special in it. Maybe in their version they were wearing 2 petticoats which is how they got the extra poof?

Sushi replied...

Ahhh maybe two petticoats is the trick, thanks for the idea ;)

Aw wow, that dress is incredible! I love how poufy it is... Maybe another petticoat would bring it to full poufing potential? Also, your hair looks so cute here :)

Still a great dress! Even with the lack of volume;) Perhaps you'll find another petticoat that'll make it bigger?!

Hey Sushi!
How lucky to find this dress on Romwe! I always feel a little guilty when they copy things so closely but, come on, we're never going to be able to afford the real thing! hehe Love the neckline on this particularly!
Maybe you could wear a short tut underneath? Because it looks like the shape comes fromt the hips..

I saw somewhere that you were contemplating getting a Wish Magazine, oh we'd be SO delighted if you did because Carrie and I adore your blog!! ;)

I think you're right, I'd need a tulle tutu/underskirt to get the shape like that! Thanks for the idea, love your blog too x Sushi

Hi Sushi! I prefer how you wear that dress (not so bubbly) ! It looks way cuter than that of the model in the runway. Pretty cool dress!!

Wow, good find, the colouts and the overall shape is so similar, it also reminds me of McQ by McQueen xx

To make it puffier, I would say that you'd wear a mini petticoat under the normal sized one as it balloons out at the hips and falls down from them.

On an unrelated note, I clicked on your Romwe banner to place an order that would give you the commission since I love your blog so much but I'm starting to wish I hadn't because everything in my Romwe order was pretty much just cheap rubbish :(

Sushi replied...

Thanks, Demi, that's a good tip :) Also, that's very sweet of you but my Romwe sponsorship is not commission based like that! I find you have to be really picky with what you purchase from stores like that - I always look for items that are a wool or cotton blend rather than completely synthetic x Sushi

Demi replied...

Oh nooo! Haha I thought it was and I was like "time to make money for my favorite blogger 8-)". Yeah I find they sell a lot of stuff that I've found on eBay but they sell it for double the price(!), so maybe I'll have to steer clear from them unless I find something that's really nice that I can't find anywhere else, haha.

Sushi replied...

Haha that's too cute! It's the clicks that count so feel free to browse and then buy somewhere else ;) Yeah, I have noticed that stores like Romwe, OASAP and She Inside have all been hiking their prices up! x Sushi

Could you post the original link for the dress on the Romwe website ? I've never seen it online, and I check the new items everyday... weird !

Sushi replied...

Unfortunately it sold out really quickly but I also saw one that looks exactly the same on Jolie Moi :)
