{ The Gatsby Spring Soiree }

After the excitement of the Australia Jitterbug Championships (my dance partner and I came second in the Up & Coming division - amazing!), I spent the next weekend getting all dressed up for the Gatsby Spring Soirée. After getting ready at home I headed to a friend's hotel for pre-drinks then we all went to the main event.

It was a great night and the costumes were amazing; so many well dressed people in one place! So here are some photos I took on the night plus outfit details on what I wore. If you want details on anyone else's costumes just ask in the comments! Also, the black and white photos of the dance floor and my dress are courtesy of the lovely Esme and the Laneway.

Wow, you look lovely. I love the feathery fringe around the dress, it just makes it perfect for the theme. I also love that guy's boater hat! They are just the best hats ever.

I'm sure you were the Belle of the Ball! In the first picture it looks like you were either blowing a kiss or finishing a piece of chocolate. In either case, you look like you were having the time of your life.

Stocks reached record peaks, and Wall Street boomed a steady golden roar. The parties were bigger, the shows were broader, the buildings were higher, the models were looser, and the ban on alcohol had backfired. Making the liquor cheaper. Wall Street was luring the young and ambitious, and I was one of them.

You've shared a great deal of you and your friends swing-dancing / jitterbugging / soiree-attending recently. I got enough vicarious pleasure of seeing you all enjoy yourselves, I was inspired to write a poem to commemorate your fun.

We are but dancers
==================

We are but dancers,
Engulfed in the din.
Embraced and embracing,
We carefully spin.
Loving the moments
We silently share,
Imagining that which
We surely not dare.
Each other's champion,
Hero and heroine.
Dance til we stumble,
And then -
Dance again.

======================

Keep dancing!

I love the dress and the accessories!
What kind of thighs were you wearing? I never can find nice nude thighs.
What are you dancing in the pictures? Charleston?
